Fan Favorites From The Lunch Menu
When San Diegans are looking for lunch in Little Italy, Puerto La Boca's menu has them thinking about Argentinian food. Saturday always makes a good time to stop by after visiting the city's best farmers market, Little Italy Mercato. But our restaurant serves lunch every day, so you don't need another reason to visit the neighborhood other than our city's best South American food!
Check out these fan favorites from our lunch menu — they're the items our customers keep talking about after coming to Little Italy to have an Argentinian lunch.
Rabas Mixtas
Customers love to start with our rabas mixtas appetizer. Rabas is a Spanish term referring to calamari, and in our dish, the rabas are lightly breaded and fried with garlic, lemon, and a mix of shrimp and vegetables. Our fans call them "top notch" and "perfect for sharing."
Empanadas
It's possible to have South American food for lunch without ordering empanadas, but we don't recommend it! A variety of the stuffed pastries may be ordered individually to please every preference. We offer beef, chicken, ham & cheese, spinach & cheese, or corn & cheese — but as one of our fans points out, they're "equally delicious!"
Entraña
At Puerto la Boca, we're best known for our steaks, and our lunchtime guests can't stop talking about the entraña, our signature skirt steak. Among the favorite comments, we've received about our entraña lunch in Little Italy are that it was "perfectly cooked," "so freaking delicious," and "just shake your head amazing!" Of course, we also love that one of our Spanish speaking customers declared it, "bien jugosa!" (That means it's perfectly succulent and juicy.)
Lomito
Of course, our lunchtime menu also includes sandwiches, and the universal favorite is our lomito. This puts our famous and " incredibly tender" lomo — the Argentine cut of filet mignon — on a fresh baguette with lettuce, tomato, and mayonnaise. One of our fans was so taken with our lomo, they called it "literally the best meal I've ever had!" We're blushing.
Chimichurri
Whatever time of day our guests stop by to try Argentinian food, they adore our homemade chimichurri! Made with fresh green herbs, chimichurri is a staple of South American food and makes everything taste better, whether it’s seafood, empanadas, steaks, vegetables, or even plain old bread. One of our fans came away calling it "the best chimichurri I've ever had in my life!" while another exclaims, "we couldn't get enough!" and a third states, "I could eat that sauce with a spoon!"
