See What Our Fans Think About Our Argentinian Desserts

While Argentina is most famous for red wine and steak, saving room for dessert is an essential part of every meal. Bakeries, cafés, and pastry shops punctuate every street corner in Buenos Aires and beyond, offering tempting and indulgent Argentinian desserts that are impossible to resist.

Dulce de leche is among the most popular sweets in Argentina. Rich, smooth, and creamy, you can spread it on everything from crepes to medialunas (Argentina’s answer to the croissant). Alfajores, cookie sandwiches filled with dulce de leche and smothered in chocolate or meringue, are another common craving in Argentinian culture. And, for those hot summer nights, there’s nothing as refreshing as a cool, creamy scoop of helado.

At Puerto La Boca, we’re famous for our rich and tender steaks. But our fans know that our Argentinian desserts are the best way to end dinner on a sweet note.

Here’s what they have to say about our Argentinian Desserts!

“For dessert we had the frozen horchata… sooooo good!!”

– Marisa L., San Diego

“I ordered an empanada as a starter, the parrillada for two with fries, and as a dessert the flan with dulce de leche. If I could, I would eat here every night. Being Argentinian and having this place four miles away is the best way to remember our particular cuisine. Coming back soon!”

– Sol K., San Diego

“We also ordered dessert and we got the apple pie which was so good and flaky. Best choice in food and service. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to try it out.”

– Jennifer H., Temple City

“The dessert was also yum. Caramel crepe with the lemon and vanilla on the side.”

– Mina C., San Diego

“For dessert we shared a dish made up of pears in a port wine sauce. It was just perfect. Just to be able to order a dessert somewhere is not a luxury I am ever afforded (on top of celiac I also have an egg yolk intolerance, so I can't even eat ice cream!) … It was just a really delicious, nourishing, exquisite experience.”

– Teenie J., Oakland

“We then got the crepes for dessert and it was the perfect way to end a perfect meal. We will definitely be going back!”

– Bethany R., Seattle

“From the empanadas and melted provolone as appetizers, to the chicken (I had) and steaks (everyone else had), to the caramel crepes for dessert, I left there knowing I ate too much. But I just couldn't stop myself! When food is that good, there is no reason to hold back.”

– Thankful Girl G., San Diego

“Save room for dessert. I think they put dulce de leche on everything and they're not stingy with it. Try the flan with dulce de leche, it's so good.”

– Donna N., Chula Vista

“After everything, our server offered desserts. We ordered two scoops of lemon ice cream, which was the cherry on top. So delicious, especially on a hot day.”

– Gina G., Hacienda Heights

“We ended the meal with Panqueques de Caramelo Crepes. They had the perfect sweetness and crunch. Honestly the best dessert I have ever had. An all around enjoyable experience.”

– Betsy S., Santa Rita, Guam

“We ordered the dulce de leche crepe for dessert and that was yummy... very rich and sweet, but we finished it off!”

– Meiko H., San Diego

“We had Argentinian cookies and ice cream for dessert. It was delicious.”

– Love Z., San Diego

“For dessert we had panqueque con dulce de leche con helado, which was a beautifully sweet end to our meal. Melt-in-your-mouth, legit dulce de leche wrapped in a warm thin crepe with chocolate sauce and a scoop of ice cream.”

– Cheryl H., San Diego
